Each product is queried for both imports and exports, regardless of whether it is an input, intermediate or finished good. This lookup starts at the latest published annual period and checks two earlier years for missing products. We use Comtrade’s country availability list to find the starting year, falling back to the last completed calendar year if that list is unavailable. Source years may be old; these are not current trade flows.
The relationship field shows the nine largest partners in each direction. All mapped partner areas contribute to totals; aggregate groups are excluded. Non-aggregate “nes” (not elsewhere specified) areas are retained under their official Comtrade labels, not assigned to an assumed country. Some partner areas cannot be selected as reporters.
