Coverage note
HS4 cannot cleanly isolate every battery chemistry or electric vehicle. The downstream layer therefore uses batteries and vehicle categories as market proxies; a large value is an exposure signal, not proof of physical dependence.

UN Comtrade reports trade, not hidden inventories, contracts, substitution, or domestic production. The mineral headings are broad by design and the EV category is an explicit proxy. Use the map to ask better questions about where a disruption could travel.
